A list of music I have listened to in the year 2024. Includes first-time listens and revisited works that are important to me. New content is added to the top of the list. Ratings are based on my personal enjoyment on a scale ranging from "I don't think I'll listen to this again. ★☆☆☆☆" to "This album has given me life. ★★★★★"

	Polygon Island Artist: Pizza Hotline \| Release Date: 2024.07.19 A continuation of the PH quest for the chillest video game-inspired soundscapes imaginable. Few of the tracks would be a great addition to the OST of a full-on blitzball game. Definitely playing this next time I try to make something with simple HTML all day then fail. Favorite Track: Stage Select ★★☆☆☆
	Mondrian Artist: Garzon Robie \| Release Date: 2024.07.24 House (and other dance) music with funny lyrics. Low-range vocals with no shame in their lack of technique. Dance music, but it doesn't really want to make me dance all that much. Favorite Track: jjigae ★★☆☆☆
	oooo Artist: 잠비노 (Jambino), 토이고 (Toigo) \| Release Date: 2024.06.05 Two Show Me The Money bros join forces to lock in. Funny listening to this right after "Moovie! 2" because these guys are basically the Korean version. Smoother vibes to the beats, but just as much fun. Why does HolyBang keep trying to get on songs, just choreograph them like you're good at. Favorite Track: 부비부비 (boobeeboobee) ★★★☆☆
	Moovie! 2: The Yeequel Artist: P-Lo, Kool John \| Release Date: 2024.07.03 Sometimes going dumb is the only thing that can bring you back from the edge yessir. A slapper, then some kind of hyphy ballad, to some nasty good stuff. In a playlist world, why not bring back skits on the album? Favorite Track: Tip Toe ★★★☆☆
	Bando Stone and The New World Artist: Childish Gambino \| Release Date: 2024.07.19 What a wacky way to send off the name. Hate the clips of movie dialogue in between songs. Genre-jumping on the level of a Kpop album, but he chose to do this on his own. There's always been a few cheesers on his albums, but this one is packed with them. Favorite Track: Yoshinoya ★☆☆☆☆
	Strawberry Rush Artist: 츄 (CHUU) \| Release Date: 2024.06.25 One song that sounds like it could've been in Wreck-It Ralph and then a bunch of chill, lazy-day pop. Her singing voice is like an expensive pastry or souvenir cookie -- it's got that fancy sweetness that's never overbearing. I only liked the single on Howl, but on this I liked all the other songs more than the single. I would've avoided doing a song (Chocolate) that sounds like Fifty Fifty, who also had major issues with their agency, but thankfully it worked out for Chuu here. Favorite Track: Honeybee ★★☆☆☆
	MINISERIES 2 Artist: SUMIN, Slom \| Release Date: 2024.07.18 Second full-length collab between goated producers Sumin and Slom. Smooth Korean RnB, acid jazz, mellow hip-hop beats, with underlying pop structuring. Like Clazziquai Project, but with more of an attitude. Favorite Track: 개인사 (None of Your Business) ★★★☆☆
	Mirage Artist: Camel \| Release Date: 1974.03.01 English prog rock from the 70s. Lengthy jams that don't feel that long thanks to catchy riffs and songs that have their own identities. Happily surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this album from an old band I've never heard of before. Favorite Track: Earthrise ★★★★☆
	너머 [1. Black Shimmer] (Beyond) Artist: 선우정아 (Sunwoojunga) \| Release Date: 2024.07.15 Starts off with a positivity-pilled fun-maxxing song. More movie soundtrack 80s (or like Sex on Toast) than that 80s style The Weeknd and EVERYONE has been doing recently. Queen of ballads. Also, fun remix of her youtube jazz theme song at the end. Brickwall make ear is ouchies. Favorite Track: 별사탕 (STAR CANDY) ★★★☆☆
	우리의 친구 머피처럼 (Like Our Friend Murphy) Artist: 왑띠 (Wapddi) \| Release Date: 2024.04.17 2010s-ish rock that could be used on the OST of a Shonen anime. Mathy guitar, fast tempos, anthemic melodies. They be just banging on them drums. Started to blend together as it went on, but maybe that's just me. Favorite Track: Story ★★☆☆☆
	너만 알고 있지 (Only You Know) Artist: 복다진 (Bok Dajin) \| Release Date: 2023.12.13 Moody strings, folksy guitar, emotional piano, and more. Taking this and that from multiple genres and making it all work under a gentle voice. Songs go from cheerful to more somber, but they all have a relaxing aura to them. Like Lee Jinah with less of a focus on stacatto piano parts and spicy chord surprises. Favorite Track: 파도 (Waves) ★★★★☆
	Dark Times Artist: Vince Staples \| Release Date: 2024.05.24 Mellow, steady, stoic bars. Just found out that Big Fish Theory was made with the intent to license the songs to movies. Does that make people who like that album basic? Sleepy, no-frills bars collab with meenoi when? Favorite Track: Goverment Cheese ★★☆☆☆
	This is my life Artist: 미노이 (meenoi) \| Release Date: 2024.07.03 Signature meenoi-smooth whispery RnB along with way more hip hop than she's ever put out on one release. Liked it much more on second listen. Better to listen to when you want to take things slow. Just happy she's back. Hopefully in a better space now. Favorite Track: 꼬셔야겠어 (Pick you up) ★★☆☆☆
	Lucky Star EP Artist: Faerybabyy \| Release Date: 2024.05.24 Muffled sound, jangly guitar, drum machine, low-range vocals, it's a vibe. Bedroom no-synth new wave? For the dancefloor of people that dance with their wrists and midlength hair. Favorite Track: orange soda ★★★☆☆
	AAA Artist: 혁오 (Hyukoh), 落日飛車 (Sunset Rollercoaster) \| Release Date: 2024.07.10 East meets (other) East supergroup. Two artsy bands get all fartsy on the beat. Hazy, dreamy, bouncy. Stuff dudes will hear and go "hell yeah" to. Is that AI album art tho??? >:( Favorite Track: Y ★★★☆☆
	Ghosts of the Great Highway Artist: Sun Kil Moon \| Release Date: 2003.11.04 Heartfelt folk and extended mellow rocking. I can only describe this type of singing as 90s. I didn't know bruh is from the YAY. Favorite Track: Duk Koo Kim ★★★★☆
	The Vibe is a Chance Artist: 유라 (Youra), 만동 (Mandong) \| Release Date: 2022.11.22 A collaboration between RnB singer-songwriter Youra and jazzy art rock outfit Mandong. First track is menacing. Rest of it keeps it woozy. Super recommend their more recent release, which I haven't included here as a separate entry because it's only two songs long. Favorite Track: 지느러미 (The Fin) ★★★☆☆
	brat Artist: Charli XCX \| Release Date: 2024.06.07 You already know who it is. Nice fun party music for good times. Some of it reminded me of capsule around the FLASH era. Favorite Track: Von Dutch ★★☆☆☆
	2/4분기 실적보고서 (Second Quarter Results) Artist: 전파상사 (zeonpasangsa) \| Release Date: 2023.06.23 Rock N Roll uncles keeping the dream alive. Iconic line after iconic line. Even more fun if you listen to the live versions. Favorite Track: 도모 (Life is All Or Nothing) ★★★☆☆
	Cool Moss Artist: Smile Project \| Release Date: 2024.04.16 Recorded on cheap tape, lo fidelity, type indie music. Simple snyths, sample-based beats, low and dirty vocals. All surprisingly addictive. Favorite Track: Betaton ★★★☆☆
	intrusyve thotz Artist: DREAM DISPHORIA \| Release Date: 2023.09.01 Hardcore electronic music that might awaken sudden painful wing sprouting in some people. Getting thrown around in a hurricane and getting hit by everything that flies by with a few moments of freefalling in the eye of the storm. Every scene in anime where they have a stupified, shocked face and all the colors go inverted played at the same time. Favorite Track: (My poor, pitiful) Hole Head ★★★★☆
	NUTTY Artist: Bodysync \| Release Date: 2024.06.28 Goofy, unserious, vengaboys ahh fun dance music. Probably has the same intended effect of laugh therapy for people that appreciate the idea of clubbing, but would much rather do an ugly dance with their pet in their own home. The boys did it again. Favorite Track: What Us Worry ★★★★☆
	Brown Acid - The Sixth Trip Artist: Various Artists \| Release Date: 2018.04.20 From the bandcamp description: "Obscure hard rock, heavy psych, and proto-metal from the late-60s & 70s." Felt like I was in Eric's Vista Cruiser. Shout out to the people who never stop digging to make comps like these. o7 Favorite Track: Heat Exchange - Inferno ★★☆☆☆
	Pippins Artist: Inny \| Release Date: 2022.12.16 Dashes of post-punk, noise, and other prickly types of rock. Each instrument in their own lane mix-wise while at the same time keeping all the energy of the performance. First thing I listened to this month, but it took me about three weeks to write this because I wasn't in the MOOD for this music until now. Glad I came back to it. Favorite Track: A Cold One ★★★☆☆
